This stories make my spirit cringe ...... I've only heard horror stories when it comes to Section 8 - why should anyone have to be subjected to sleeping on the streets and putting themselves in danger because the agency that is suppose to help them doesn't? The problem here is clearly with these agencies. Several years ago I escorted a friend to the Dept of Social Services. I stood there, with over 100 people in the waiting area, and watched the employees chit chat around the water cooler, take cigarette breaks, go down for coffee, and even gather around someone's cubical to order items for a "Popular Plan" catalog!!! Needless to say, after seven hours maybe about a dozen of them were attend to, the others, simply were instructed to come back tomorrow. It's a disgrace. My heart goes out the people in these situations, at this time all I can offer is my prayers. But prayers are powerful! May you all be blessed today and always!
