Her name is RD, but many of you already know her on twitter as @lostawareness. I first met RD this summer while I was traveling the country through this twee here. Because most of my homeless services contacts are in Los Angeles I was able to help RD rather quickly. I wish they all worked out that way.

RD and I took the stage at 140 Conference LA a few months back. She rocked it and I was so proud of her. You can watch here.

Unfortunately, RD is still homeless. She now has disability income but that is not enough to afford adequate housing.

Please watch this powerful interview and share with everyone you know. She is facing the biggest crisis in her life with a positive attitude. Rd is an encouragement to many.

RD, your upbeat attitude in the face of so much adversity is an inspiration.

It is unacceptable that so much of our money has been spend on housing administrators’ salaries, overhead, administrative expenses, software, homeless counts, etc., etc. and so little on housing homeless people.

Tools like computers, cell phones, social media help to shine a spotlight on these kinds of practices and priorities and will surely help to facilitate change.

I wish you and all homeless people a safe and peaceful home.
