I met Mo in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Mo had a place, but her kidney’s failed, and after a hospital stay she was evicted from her apartment.

Mo tells the real story about life on the streets in Canada.

Mo’s three wishes, a place a place a place. I can only pray that soon Mo will be living inside in a place of her own. Together, we can effect real, positive change and make people’s wishes come true.

Seriously people…we need to take care of each other more, instead of passing the buck saying its this agency or that person that should help…..look in the mirror. For every extra item we own in this world, someone is going without!

The security guard at my old building (transition housing) told me he never saw ANYONE get off welfare without working a cash job on the side in all the time he’d worked there. They had enough for food that way then could stay strong and keep looking for a good job instead of succumbing to health problems caused by lack of quality food like me.

I cry every time I watch this video. I’m in school to become a social worker so that I can help women like her who legitimately need help. Her only wish is to have a door that locks so she knows she’ll be ok for the night — that shouldn’t be something someone has to wish and dream for. That is not a luxury but a necessity and we need to bring awareness and do more for people like Mo.
