David

David has been homeless since the age of 12. He first started “couch surfing”, but by age 17 David ran out of places to visit and ended up on the streets.

Even while living on the streets, David worked hard to stay in school. A social worker eventually connected with David and let him know about Jovenes, the youth shelter where he currently lives.

I met David at the Street Soccer West Coast Cup this past week in San Francisco. He was part of the Los Angeles team that traveled from Boyle Heights to play soccer with other homeless and formerly homeless from around the West Coast.

We imagine a world where everyone has a place to call home. Until then, we strive to be the most trusted source for homelessness.
