Nonprofit Board Members Wanted: Help Us Help End Homelessness

Nonprofit Board Members Wanted

Come Help Invisible People Grow

Invisible People is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to educating the public about homelessness through innovative storytelling, news, and advocacy. Since our launch in 2008, Invisible People has become a pioneer and trusted resource for inspiring action and raising awareness in support of advocacy, policy change and thoughtful dialogue around poverty in North America and the United Kingdom.

We imagine a world where everyone has a place to call home. Each day, we work to fight homelessness by giving it a face while educating individuals about the systemic issues that contribute to its existence. Through storytelling, education, news, and activism, we are changing the narrative on homelessness.

For thirteen years, Invisible People has been a leader in educating the public on homelessness to influence policy change. Our programs include education, documentary production, journalism and advocacy. We currently reach over a billion people a year; however, we remain in a start-up phase. We are seeking board members that have experience in the nonprofit sector in both management and fundraising to join our volunteer board of directors.

We are specifically seeking:

  • A board chair with nonprofit leadership experience to help us grow our board
  • A finance person to help us keep our finances compliant with all laws and regulations.
  • A journalism expert to help us grow our news programs.

The time commitment is approximately five to ten hours a month. The board meets quarterly. Board members are required to donate or to fundraise.
