Katina

When I met Katina, she had lived homeless with her children for three months. Katina got behind on rent and the family ended up in a shelter in St Louis.

I was introduced to Katina through Saint Louis Public Schools. During our first phone call, Katina was so positive that her energy made me glow!

I was very impressed by Saint Louis Public Schools and the services they provide to homeless families, but just the fact that school districts have to provide homeless services always messes me up. I was told that in Saint Louis Public Schools, the number of children experiencing homelessness has risen in the last five years from 1,700 to over an alarming 5,068 students.

Very special thanks to Saint Louis Public Schools.
