homeless veteran in londonStephanie was medically discharged from the Royal Army Medical Corps after being injured in Afghanistan. She now sleeps rough on the cold streets of Central London. Stephanie says you lose everything on the streets and no one seems to care.

By the medical bandages around Stephanie’s abdomen, it was evident that she was recently in the hospital. She said her appendix burst and the hospital discharged her back to the streets. A few weeks ago I interviewed John in a London hospital. Since that time, John has been released back to the streets, then went back into the hospital and now back sleeping rough!

Stephanie has to wait almost two weeks before being allowed into a night hostel, or what we in the U.S. call an emergency shelter.
