Natasha

Natasha is 22 years-old and has been homeless in London for 4 years. Only moments before meeting her on a dark rainy night I met two other homeless women. One woman had been on the streets for 33 years.

Natasha says because she is not using drugs or alcohol or pregnant there is no help.

It’s hard for to imagine what a young girl like Natasha life is like on the streets. It’s nothing but a miracle that she still is positive and can smile.

If she lived in my country, I would offer a place to rest, and write. but she sadly doesn’t. I think we as consumers, could learn alot from these people, having to appriciate, the smallest gestures, but still having modesty. I dont have much but I have a heart, that goes out to you Natasha. And if u have a facebook, I would definatly like to follow you. Iv’e read a quote once that says, when you finally lost everything you will realize all you ever needed was love. My heart goes out to you natasha, and I believe in you. You do have a great smile:)

I love this girl.  I’m surprised that London treats its people this badly. They should be ashamed. What does it take for them to realize there needs to be more shelters and aid?  I hope this video compells people who watch to talk to the next homeless person they see because many are like this girl.

What a sad story. Someone her age needs to be in college, not on the streets. What happens when low income and homeless want to get educated?

  • Ross

Is there any way to get in contact with her again? Which area of London is she sleeping rough in?

  • Tom

Hello, this is my third post (in quick succession, not moaning :D ) to you in an attempt to reach you to let you know that I’d be happy to feature Natasha’s work on Maxim.co.uk. If interested, please get in touch twitter.com/IBringTheFunk

This woman did an interview with Audioboo 5 months ago. Just Google? “Natasha homeless London audioboo” and the interview should come up.

I do hope that this site, offers something bigger than making the people visible. Because me seing Natasha gave me an urge to follow her, at the very least. But if we are not able to go any further than noticing them online, them how is that helping I wonder?

  • Allermann1

And also plz, as a supporter show an example of what the support offers. If only money donations, change the course of these people, I wonder what you’ve done with all the donations.. Do you have anything to show, if not I cannot see how I would support this. I think the stories definatly offers perspective. But If that is all, it to me, is just a tv show, nothing more.. And that I do not find entertaining one bit.

Thanks for your comment and I agree with you. Awareness alone is never enough.

Invisible People connects people to the face of homelessness in a direct
and meaningful way that humanizes the subject and builds empathy in the
viewer. This is way more important and impactful than simple awareness.

Literally, this site has created housing and feeding programs in two countries. Last year  Invisible People helped champion the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness, which will save thousands of lives and lots of taxpayer money. Everything is posted on http://hardlynormal.com

  • Nataschuschka

Does any of you know how it came that she has to life on the streets???

  • nas

does any one know how she got to live on the streets?

  • Rach

I’m sure you people are concerned and kind but I don’t think you should be posting about how to find her. This is a public forum – anyone could see it who does not have such good intentions.  Please be careful.

  • anon

I agree, if she wants to be found, she’ll be found. Posting her whereabouts makes her a target – notice how people are more “worried” about a cute homeless girl than the rest.

They are human beings like you and I. There are many… Many reasons why People end up homeless. Not all are homeless because of drugs & alcohol.
Pray for them if you can’t do much Else.

    Hard Life.

  • Bruce

Here’s the problem. They don’t want to help themselves. Let me give you proof. I am an attractive ,slim, 57 year old, white male. An 18 year veteran police officer (back in the days when Police were the good guys). No drug use, no alcohol use. No criminal history and an impeccable drivers history as well. I own free and clear a nice, modern three bedroom, 2 full bath country home. I am employed. I am stable as I own my house, my vehicle, have zero debt and have been in this immediate area for 28 years. I’d bet you a hundred bucks I could send a bus ticket to some of the ladies that I’d be interested in having a relationship with that you have interviewed and NOT a single one would even call to check on the possibility, much less travel free of charge to start a whole new life. Free from hunger, fear, and worry. A whole new life and NOT a single one would take me up on the offer. Wanna bet? As soon as you say your not a drinker, drug head or party animal that want nothing to do with you. They don’t want stability. They don’t want normalcy. Prove it to yourself! Offer this to any homeless, decent looking lady, who is not mentally challenged, alcoholic or drug head, lots of luck with that BTW. But, maybe one who just fell through the cracks of this sever recession a say they want chance to have a radical change for the better in her life, a good man and a relationship and watch her laugh at you, when you say I know of a man, here’s his email and telephone number. They don’t want that !!!!
Society is partly to blame in all honesty though. There are so many weirdos out there in the world that most offers are bogus if not down right dangerous. Thereby making it close to impossible when a genuine and true offer is at hand to determine which is which. I can be reached at Timex421@aol.com

  • Annie Mcd

Wow! Is it really that surprising that a ”
homeless, decent looking lady, who is not mentally challenged, alcoholic or drug head,” turns down an offer to ”
having a relationship” with this poster? Sounds like that bus ticket the poster is offering leads straight to a live in prostitute arrangement.
I use to be a young homeless girl, (now work helping to shelter homeless pregnant women), if this poster or anyone else had made an offer as suggested above I would of turned it down too and laughed. Not because I did not “want to help myself” as Bruce suggests, but because I would of had zero interest in giving up my self to be “a good mans” sugar baby or live in hooker. Just wow.

  • Sunny Dee

Dude, you’re 57 years old. The fact that you would even think of posting such things about yourself in hopes that a 22 year old woman would be interested is pathetic. You’re looking for women who are on the street in desperate situations to “take care of”. C’mon, these women are not stupid. Understand that and you’ll understand why not one of them has contacted you yet. If you really wanted to help you would offer them some other type of resources or aid that could help them off the streets and get back on their own two feet in their own way. Face it Bruce, some women have more dignity than to get into a relationship with a man who sees her as desperate.

  • a2phil

Imagine, a woman living with someone almost 3TIMES HER AGE!!!

  • homeless in florida<3

I am a cute homeless girl in America…. What is anybody doing for me? Nothing. Ive been homeless for 2 years and will continue to be homeless due to lack of family and finances. You’re promoting donating money to this foundation, what about when we are sleeping in ditches and have nowhere to go when its raining? You don’t want to hand a dollar then.

  • homeless in florida<3

lol youre the weirdo trying to seduce homeless girls by bribing them with your ‘paid for’ car and luxurious country home. why would i lower my standards and make myself feel like a prostitute? id rather sleep in a box, big guy.

  • Lorri Guy

The first “problem” is that you’re identifying an entire group of people
as a generic “they”…as if they are all in the same circumstance with
the same background. The next problem is your delusional assumption
that all women would trade a “relationship” with a random older man for
shelter or food. That is almost by definition prostitution, and there
are plenty of prostitutes around the world that you could contact. Just
as a “drug head/mentally challenged/alcoholic” homeless woman is not
desirable to you, a 57-year old “established” male who uses an
enlightening site like this as a dating service is not desirable to ANY
woman as far as I know. Your driving and employment history do not out
shadow your obvious lack of concern for the real problem. How many
families with starving children have you extended this offer to? Society
is the problem, and a huge part of that is well off societal members
like yourself who believe that a relationship is a fair trade for the
    basic necessities of life.

  • Brat Boy

This is how extreme life is. Some people have so much that they cannot even count -and some people have nothing at all. I have known people who spend millions on wedding functions & parties. They drive the best of cars and wear the best of clothes or travel at at-least 4 times a year on holidays to other countries.

WHY CAN’T THESE PEOPLE OR ANYONE AS A MATTER OF FACT WHO HAS SOME MONEY HELP PEOPLE LIKE ‘NATASHA’ OUT. We should start a Universal Drive and educate people to at-least help one homeless person in their lifetime ( A group of people can contribute to help one person at a time). Help them to get • A permanent shelter • To be Self Reliant again • Help them with their education so that they may become better people etc.

I also feel that there should be mandatory lectures in high schools educating students to show kindness to others. BUT we must ensure that people who need us should not totally rely on help (unless they have some disability) but should be able to stand up on their own feet once they are able to come out of the situation they are in.

And I’m sure with such efforts we would make this world a better home for each one of us.
